Host Liquor Liability Example: At the wedding reception, you have a champagne toast and then serve alcohol to all of your guests of legal drinking age, during the remainder of the reception. Since there is no charge for the alcohol, a Host Liquor Liability situation would exist. If a guest became intoxicated and left the reception hitting a pedestrian in a crosswalk, you would most likely be sued for contributing to the intoxication of that guest. What is a Certificate of Liability?

An event location my require you to show them a Certificate of Liability. A Certificate of Liability is a document that details the type of insurance coverage and the dates and limits of coverage. You may also be required to add the facility/venue as an Additional Insured to your policy.

An Additional Insured is a person or facility, other than the named insured, that is also provided insurance under the policy. The Additional Insured wording required by the Event location can usually be found in the Event Site Rental Agreement.

How do I obtain a Certificate of Liability?
You will have the opportunity to add an Additional Insured when purchasing Liability coverage online. Don't know the exact wording? You can sign in in after purchasing the policy and add an Additional Insured at anytime for no additional charge. The Certificate of Liability and an Additional Insured Endorsement are available to print immediately when using the online policy management system.

Can I get additional Certificates of Liability on my policy?

You can print a Certificate of Liability for each event location when you add them as an Additional Insured to your policy. There are three ways to add and print a Certificate of Liability:

What is the difference between Host Liquor Liability and Liquor Liability?

The difference between Host Liquor Liability and Liquor Liability is whether or not there is any charge for alcohol. If there is no charge for alcohol, then Host Liquor Liability would apply. If there is a charge for admission and alcohol is being served, then it is assumed that a portion of the admission charge is for the alcohol and Liquor Liability would apply.

Is Property Damage Liability included?

Property Damage Liability coverage is included in Wedsure's Liability coverage.

Our exclusive care, custody or control liability coverage includes Property Damage Liability resulting from damage to the premises that you hire as the site where the covered events are to take place.

Remember, most homeowners policies and commercial general liability policies exclude (do not cover) Property Damage Liability for any property in your care, custody or control or for any property that is occupied or used by you or leased or rented to you. That is why it is important to secure Wedsure Wedding Insurance.

Are all vendors covered under one policy?

When you purchase Wedsure Loss of Deposits coverage, any vendor deposits you make are covered in the event of wedding deposit misfortune!

Wedsure's Loss of Deposits coverage can be purchased on its own or in combination with any other coverage. Loss of Deposits coverage will pay for lost deposits that you have paid, if they become nonrefundable because someone you hired to provide goods or services went out of business.

Cancellation/Postponement provides coverage if the officiant or caterer fails to appear or the venue goes out of business.

Photographs/Video provides coverage if the photographer fails to appear or disappears after the wedding with your wedding pictures.

Is weather covered for cancellation?

If the policy is purchased 14 or more days prior to the date of the first covered event and if the event is canceled as a result of extreme weather, which prevents the bride, the groom, the immediate family, the officiant or more than 50% of the guests from reaching the wedding or reception, the expenses paid or incurred would be covered.

Keep in mind, dark skies or light rainfalls do not qualify as reason enough to cancel a wedding.

Is there coverage if the photographer disappears?

Wedsure's Photographs/Video Coverage will pay to retake the photographs or video recording if the photographer/videographer fails to appear, disappears after the wedding with your wedding pictures or video, or the pictures are lost, damaged or stolen. This coverage pays the roundtrip air or auto travel expenses incurred by the bride, the groom and their immediate families and attendants, to reassemble for the wedding pictures to be retaken. It also pays for all associated costs, such as meals and lodging while traveling, rehiring a photographer, renting a premises to stage the wedding pictures, buying a new wedding cake and flowers and renting necessary wedding or special attire.

Naming the facility or venue as an "Additional Insured" on your Liability policy is quite common. You are simply adding the facility/venue name where the event is being held and naming them on your Liability policy.
